This 76-hour non-credit training program consists of a combination of classroom instruction, lab instruction, and hands-on clinical practice. This training is appropriate for those who do not need college credit (a record of course completion on his/her official college transcript).
Each instructional cycle allows time for intensive and individualized instruction. The course is normally delivered in a format that involves attending class full-time for two weeks. Students will be qualified to take the National Nurse Aid Assessment Program (NNAAP) examination consisting of both a written and skills test. Testing date to be determined with the successful completion of course requirements.
Participants will complete two (2) 8-hour clinical days as part of the training. Clinical days typically are scheduled to occur the final two days of class, and are held from 6:30AM - 3:00PM at Eventide Heartland Care Center, 620 14th Ave NE, Devils Lake, ND 58301.
A mantoux test for prior exposure to TB must be completed and a copy submitted prior to participating in the clinical portion of the class. This may be obtained at your local public health office or your physician's office.
Cost includes books, training materials, laboratory fees, instruction from an experienced Registered Nurse Educator, and the testing fee for the ND Board of Nursing written exam and skills test. Upon passing both portions of the state test, the student earns the title Certified Nurse Assistant.
